| the water wont get a chance to move around the engine so there may have been hot areas around the motor that would register hotter than "maxing out" the gauge but those hot spots never made it to the gauge because of no circulation, even if you didn't blow the head gasket right now you may have (I can almost guarantee you did) warped the block or the heads and it would eventually fail down the road, additionally if you choose to rebuild the current engine it will most likely have to be milled adding cost to a rebuild. All these shinnanigans will cost WAYY more than the cheapest craigslist tow service..... if I didn't have the tools/ space to work/ know how to work on Z's- I would've had a friend pull me with a really long rope before I drive it with no water pump...... or maybe you got really lucky and you're fine Good luck!
